November 25, 2025 — On Tuesday, November 25, the Administration of the National Port System of Puerto Chiapas carried out a training aimed at the port community on the correct classification and management of waste, taught by teaching staff of the Polytechnic University of Tapachula (UPTAP).
The objective of this training day was to reinforce the knowledge and practices necessary for proper management of the waste generated in the operational and administrative areas of the port, contributing to the protection of the environment and compliance with current environmental regulations.
Various sectors and agencies that collaborate closely with ASIPONA Puerto Chiapas joined this activity, including: the port community, the Secretariat of Urban Development and Ecology (SEDURBE) of the municipality of Tapachula, the company PROCESA, personnel of ASIPONA Puerto Chiapas, PEMEX, different companies in the city, as well as educational and security institutions such as the Center for Technological Studies of the Sea (CETMAR). the Naval Zone, the National Institute of Migration, MAINAVAL and SURFTapachula.
During the training, attendees received information on waste classification, the criteria and procedures for proper separation, and the importance of applying these practices in their work areas, promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.
The Administration of the Puerto Chiapas National Port System reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, environmental education and the implementation of actions that strengthen comprehensive waste management within the port area.
