As Taiwan’s largest port, the Port of Kaohsiung serves as a pivotal Asia-Pacific hub handling about 70% of the country’s container volume. Through smart technology, it has developed Terminal No. 7, Taiwan’s first automated, intelligent terminal designed to boost operational efficiency. Beyond containers, the port manages diverse bulk cargo, hosts a petrochemical center, and serves as an official London Metal Exchange delivery point. Operating under an “inside the border, outside customs” Free Trade Zone with tax incentives, it also supports offshore wind power infrastructure, cruise tourism, and waterfront redevelopment.
