Island hopping cruise ships have visited Hualien Port one after another

July 18, 2025 — Hualien Port will welcome 10 international cruise ships in 114, of which 5 voyages are exploratory cruises, and the first international cruise ship SCENIC ECLIPSE II that arrived in Hong Kong on April 17 is an exploratory cruise ship, which visited Hualien Port three times in a row on June 19 and June 21, passengers were deeply impressed by Hualien’s natural scenery and aboriginal culture, and believed that Hualien tourism is infinitely charming.

Taroko National Park was severely damaged by the 113 0403 earthquake, and after repair, it has been reopened to tourists on July 1 this year to enter the Taroko Terrace and Visitor Center, Tianxiang Recreation Area, attractions west of Xibao, Chongde Recreation Area, Tongli Tribe, Shanhai Settlement Tour and other attractions. Some severely affected areas, such as Changchun Temple, Shakalong Trail, Yanzikou, Buluo Bay, Cunlu Ancient Road, and Jiuqu Cave, along the Zhongheng Highway, are still undergoing geological assessment and restoration operations, and are still closed and temporarily closed to the public.

Large international cruise ships such as the 11.5-ton-class Diamond Princess and the 8.3-ton-class Western-style will return to Hualien in 115, bringing thousands of passengers per voyage. Although many attractions in Taroko National Park are still in the restoration stage, Hualien still has the East Rift Valley, such as Lintian Mountain, Sixty Stone Mountain and other potential attractions that can attract international tourists, Hualien Port Branch will continue to optimize the port facilities, provide tourism consultation and convenient land transportation services, and work with the Tourism Bureau and the Hualien County Government to promote Hualien attractions, strive for more international cruise ships to stop, so that more foreign tourists can experience the natural beauty of Hualien firsthand, and boost Hualien’s local tourism.

Hualien Port currently has two customs clearance service stations, one located in the back line of Hualien Port #23 Terminal, dedicated to serving large cruise passengers, with a customs clearance efficiency of 1,200 people/hour. In addition, in January 113, the #14 pier passenger customs clearance service station was completed, mainly serving island-hopping cruise passengers, and when the Suhua shipping backup mechanism was activated, it also provided Suhua backup passengers to wait for the ship, and the customs clearance efficiency of the customs clearance station was 600 people/hour. Hualien Port cruise ship berthing has both software and hardware, and sincerely welcomes all kinds of cruise ships to berth.
