February 15, 2026 — The Administration of the National Port System of Puerto Chiapas informs the arrival of the Island Princess tourist cruise ship to the facilities of Puerto Chiapas, consolidating this maritime terminal as a strategic point for the development of international tourism in the Soconusco region.
The tourist boat arrived from Bahías de Huatulco, carrying out docking maneuvers at 07:45 hours, and later continued its journey to the port of Puntarenas, Costa Rica, with a scheduled departure time at 17:00 hours.
During its stopover in the port, the vessel transported a total of 2,124 passengers and 880 crew members, who had the opportunity to learn about the tourist, cultural, artisanal and gastronomic offer that distinguishes the region, generating an important economic spillover for the benefit of tourism service providers, local merchants and tour operators.
As part of the reception of visitors, a cultural program organized by the City of Mazatán was carried out, which allowed to show the cultural richness, traditions and artistic expressions that characterize the state of Chiapas, strengthening the regional identity and promoting cultural exchange with international visitors.
This arrival is part of the routes operated by the shipping line Princess Cruises, one of the most important companies in the sector worldwide, which endorses the confidence of international shipping companies in the infrastructure, safety and quality of services offered by Puerto Chiapas.
