Summary: A major intermodal equipment company is seeking a Director of Marine Logistics for the West Coast. Reporting to the AVP of Marine Operations, the Director will lead the logistics team and serve as a member of the operations department. The Director will be responsible for overseeing all west coast operations, strategic planning, operational execution, and implementation of best practices in transportation and inventory management to support business objectives.
The successful candidate will be a skilled relationship builder who leverages key contacts across the intermodal industry – including marine terminals, railroads, NVOCC’s, BCO’s, motor carriers and steamship lines to advance ethe company’s strategic objectives. He/she will be a strong leader who will cultivate excellent relationships with terminal leadership and staff, set clear goals and objectives for the team, have a strong background in data and market trends and preferably P&L experience with strong financial expertise.
Location: Long Beach/Orange County area (hybrid – in office 3 days weekly).
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience Requirements: Minimum 8 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management, ideally in a marine terminal operations role (at the senior manager or Director level) and working knowledge of intermodal equipment. A minimum of 5 years’ management experience is required.
Compensation & Benefits: $160-180K base + bonus and excellent benefits.
