Career opportunity: Vice President, Projects, Marine Terminal (Port of LA Complex)

Overview:  Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Projects is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of all designated key projects for the terminal’s facilities, covering investment, maintenance, repair, and construction. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, budget preparation, administration, analysis, managing resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, quality, and budget.

The VP Projects will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive efficiency, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and deliver high-quality project outcomes. The VP Projects will be instrumental in coordinating with Shareholders to deliver project information in a format suitable for their own internal approvals. The VP Projects will need to present proposed projects to the Board of Directors and provide suitable progress reports on those already initiated.

Location:  Los Angeles/San Pedro/Wilmington (Port of LA complex)

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years project management experience (with at least five in a leadership capacity) in a marine terminal environment.  Familiarity with marine terminal operations, equipment, infrastructure development, Army Corp of Engineers, and EIR process is strongly preferred as is experience working in a union environment.  MUST have previous experience managing a project team staff AND contractors/consultants.  (Candidates from heavy industry will be considered if other experience requirements listed above align.)

Compensation & Benefits: Base salary up to $300K, plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
