December 3, 2025 — On November 26, 2025, we officially opened MarineLabs’ new headquarters in Victoria, welcoming partners, friends, and peers who have been part of our journey to advance coastal weather intelligence for maritime safety and efficiency.
We were honoured to host BC Premier David Eby (pictured above with MarineLab’s CEO, Scott Beatty) for a tour of the space, along with formal remarks from the Honourable Rick Glumac, Minister of State for AI and New Technologies; John Wilson, CEO of the Pacific Pilotage Authority; Leann Collins, Director of Projects and Stakeholder Relations at ABCMI; and Dan Gunn, CEO of VIATEC.
The program highlighted the growing impact of accurate, real-time weather data and MarineLabs’ role in advancing the ocean-tech innovation ecosystem in Victoria and beyond.
“Many of us love to play on the ocean, so for us to mix our passion with what we’re building makes the endeavour so much more exciting and allows us to dig deeper when we have to,” said Dr. Scott Beatty, CEO and Founder of MarineLabs. “We exist for maritime safety and for protection of coastlines, that’s what MarineLabs is all about.”
Throughout the day, guests moved through our lab, assembly and test bays, engineering spaces, and CoastAware demo lounge, seeing firsthand how our team builds, tests, and deploys the sensors that light up coastlines across North America with data.
This new headquarters gives us the space to expand our team, support deeper collaboration with industry and community partners, and scale our sensor network. It anchors Canadian ocean-tech innovation and brings our operations together under one roof.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the MarineLabs team whose work made this milestone possible. Now, back to making (and monitoring!) waves.
