April 7, 2026 — The “Seabourn Sojourn”, a subsidiary of Seabourn, the world’s top luxury cruise brand, will visit Hualien Port on April 8 with about 350 passengers, mainly European and American. This is not only the ship’s second visit after its maiden voyage in 2016, but also an indispensable highlight of its 42-day World Cruise.
Built in 1986, Seal Cruises has always been known as the pioneer of “small luxury cruises”. The Bahamian “Voyager” visited this time has a total tonnage of 32,477 tons, a length of 198.1 meters, and a width of 25.6 meters. The ship is known for its “all-suite design”, with a passenger ratio of nearly 1:1, providing top-notch services comparable to five-star hotels, including Michelin-rated dining, unlimited wine and WiFi supported by Starlink, creating a sense of luxury like a private yacht for passengers.
After setting sail from Hong Kong this time, the “Voyager” will stop at Kaohsiung and Hualien along the way, and then head north to Ishigaki Island, Amami Oshima, Takamatsu, Busan and other places in Japan, and finally arrive in Vancouver. As early as March 15, 2016, the Voyager docked in Hualien for the first time. Returning after a decade, most travelers choose to delve into Taroko National Park to explore the world-class marble canyon landscape, or go to downtown Hualien to experience the local culture. Hualien can be ranked alongside major cities such as Tokyo and Vancouver in the 42-day high-end route, fully proving its unique position as a “unmissable stopover” on international flights.
The return of the Xibao Traveler symbolizes Hualien’s establishment as an important piece of the puzzle for international cruise routes, and also allows the world to see the unparalleled charm of Taiwan’s east coast.
