Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas promotes environmental conservation with fourth Coastal Cleanup Day

September 29, 2025 — On September 27th, the 4th Coastal Cleanup Day was held with great success, as part of Mexico’s National Beach and Coastal Cleanup and Conservation Campaign 2025–2030.

Under the slogan #YoCuidoMiPlaya (I Take Care of My Beach), the activity took place near the Coastal Boulevard, where more than 300 volunteers from the city, of all ages, participated, as well as port concessionaire companies, including APM Terminals, ArcelorMittal, Terminales Portuarias del Pacífico (TPP), Carbonser, LC Logistics GPS (TUM II), and LC Multipurpose Terminal (TUM III). Institutions such as Coca-Cola FEMSA, MANPRO, security personnel from the port, and the port’s emergency services also participated.

Thanks to the collective effort, more than 656 kilograms of waste were collected, cleaning more than a kilometer of the coastal boulevard and creating a cleaner and safer space for the community.

The event was attended and supported by authorities such as the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), Customs, UNAPROP, CUMAR, PROFEPA (Profepa Lázaro Cárdenas Delegation), as well as the Department of Ecology and Parks and Gardens of the Honorable Municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, who provided logistical and operational support.

The Port of Lázaro Cárdenas and its Port Community thus reaffirm their commitment to environmental conservation, strengthening collaboration between citizens, businesses, and authorities for the benefit of cleaner coastal environments.

The next cleanup event will take place on October 17th, and citizens, civil associations, and businesses are invited to join this initiative, which promotes a culture of respect and care for the environment. “Together, we preserve our beaches and coasts.”
