November 14, 2025 — Hualien Port welcomed the Seabourn Quest from the ultra-luxury cruise brand, becoming the fourth international cruise ship to visit for the first time this year.
In order to welcome the visit of Xibao explorers, Hualien Port not only arranged a tugboat water spray ceremony, but also presented a commemorative plaque for the first voyage, and also invited a well-known Hualien dance troupe to perform an aboriginal welcome dance at the cruise terminal, creating a lively atmosphere. Seabourn Quest was launched in 2011 and is an ocean-class luxury cruise ship with a length of 198 meters, a beam of 25 meters, and a gross tonnage of 32,348 tons. With a draft of -6.5 meters, a capacity of 450 passengers and a crew of 330, the ship offers extremely spacious accommodation space and is equipped with a wide balcony, allowing passengers to enjoy open-air dining on private decks, allowing passengers to enjoy the ultimate luxury sea journey. This voyage brought about 400 passengers from the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and other countries to visit Hualien.
In order to attract cruise ships to call at Hualien Port, the Hualien Port Branch actively cooperates with the Tourism Administration, Taroko National Park Management Office, and the Hualien County Government to package Hualien’s main attractions and tribal workshops into cruise shore itineraries for cruise companies to refer to when stepping on the line. In November, the port company invited Holland America and Xibao Cruise Group, accompanied by the Hualien branch, to visit attractions such as Tianxiang, Chongde Recreation Area, Hunter School and PAARK Waterfront Life, and also visited Star Cruises and the cruise general agent to strive for the opportunity for cruises to dock at Hualien Port.
In addition to actively promoting cruise marketing, Hualien Port Branch has continued to provide cruise preferential programs for 115 years, including waiver of anchorage fees, passenger service fees, and port cleaning and maintenance fees. At the same time, we will continue to strengthen port facilities such as terminals and customs clearance stations, and work with various public agencies (CIQS) in the port area to provide comprehensive and convenient immigration clearance services.
