Executive Director’s Note…
Thanks for your input!
In our last E-news, we asked for your input to help guide us in planning contingencies for the APP’s 107th Annual Conference in Nanaimo, Canada. Thanks for so many responses! It was great to see such enthusiasm for the conference, reinforcing our conviction that the conference is an important part of your professional development, relationship-building and marketing plans.

Your insights are helpful as we continue to evaluate the best contingency plan in case COVID-19 restrictions on travel and large gatherings last through the summer. Overwhelmingly, responses were most in favor of keeping the August date. While it’s still too early to know for sure, this is our Number One choice as well. Your feedback has also prompted us to research virtual (and hybrid-virtual) conferences.

The Conference Committee and the APP Executive have agreed to wait until the end of April/early May before making a decision. In the meantime, it’s full steam ahead! Better to be prepared for any scenario than none at all and we appreciate your support as we manage these uncertain times. It should be noted that sponsorships and registration fees are fully refundable should the conference not go ahead as planned.

With that in mind, we’re pleased to welcome our newest sponsor — The Western Group Stevedoring and Terminal Services . It’s great to have you on board!

As always, I’m interested in hearing your thoughts. Call or email anytime.

Best regards,
Jane McIvor
