The International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) is a non-profit membership association dedicated to developing and maintaining professional standards in the maritime industry. The IAMPE achieves this goal in two primary ways – by cultivating a membership network of port professionals across North America, and by providing a standardized education program to certify port professionals and pave the way for long term professional development. Industry standards have been developed and approved by the IAMPE’s advisory board – an organization of 20+ senior port professionals across North America. These board members represent a diverse set of perspectives and interests across the industry. For additional information on the members of the advisory board, click here.

The IAMPE’s educational programs are structured to provide standardized tiers of certification for port professionals. The association’s flagship offering – the Maritime Port Executive (MPE) program – is the industry standard for what port professionals need to know to succeed in this business. The program is designed by Captain Jeffrey Monroe, the association’s Director of Education and Training, and has been used to train 1,000+ professionals over the past two decades. Captain Monroe’s program has been used to train employees from organizations across the industry.
