Port of Redwood City’s May Newsletter released

May 16, 2024 — May 2024/Currents Newsletter

Fun Fact: Did you know that the Port is one of the oldest west coast ports in operation since 1851?
May is underway and we are excited to celebrate Maritime Month. The maritime industry fuels operations and success of the Port of Redwood City.
On Wednesday, May 22, the Port of Redwood City, along with other ports across the nation will come together to celebrate National Maritime Day to recognize its revolutionary history in shaping world trade. For over 100 years, the Port has been a maritime champion in the broader Silicon Valley region and we are proud to reflect on all of the key players who contribute to the maritime industry.
I encourage you to visit the San Mateo County History Museum this month to learn more about our Port’s rich history of maritime. Thank you to our entire maritime community for what they do and their dedication to enhancing marine operations.
Also exciting this month is the new Ferry Ballpark Service Pilot Project which will transport community members for a day at Oracle Park. Our favorite Rock the Dock free concert series can kick off the weekend every Saturday. A summer filled of fun is coming to the Port!
