Port of Stockton awarded funds for air emission capture and control systems

August 23, 2024 — The Port of Stockton was pleased to announce an award of over $4 million from the office of Congressman Josh Harder, representing California’s 9th Congressional District. “These crucial community project funds will be instrumental in advancing our commitment to environmental stewardship and public health,” said Kirk DeJesus, Port Director.

Specifically, the funding will be used to implement state-of-the-art emission capture and control systems for tanker ships visiting the Port of Stockton. The capture and control system has been proven to reduce ship emissions by 95 percent. “Together, we are making strides towards a cleaner, greener future,” DeJesus said.
