Taichung Port holds “Planting Trees Like Poetry, Land Like a Picturesque” event to demonstrate environmental sustainability

April 19, 2024 — In order to dedicate itself to the development of green ports and fulfill its commitment to environmental sustainability, the Taichung Port Branch of the Taiwan Port Authority Co., Ltd. held the “Planting Trees Like Poetry, the Land Like a Picturesque” event on the eve of World Earth Day, inviting private institutions ( organizations ) from Taichung and Hong Kong ) About 200 people participated, hoping that through practical actions to plant trees and respect the land, they can arouse the public’s attention to the sustainable development of the ecological environment and do their part to protect the earth.

In addition to inviting professional technicians to explain tree maintenance operations such as tree planting, watering, fertilizer application, tree disease and pest control, this event also invited a band to perform music performances, with the forest park as the background, combined with The wonderful music feast increased the participants’ understanding and concern for the green space, and allowed them to feel the beautiful visual scene and musical atmosphere, and plant saplings of hope together.

In recent years, the Taichung Port Branch has continued to plant several species in the Taichung Port every year. More than 10,000 trees actively implement SDGs13 ( climate action ) and SDGs15 ( terrestrial ecology ) United Nations sustainable development goals, exert the company’s green influence, and bring influence to global sustainability goals.
