October 23, 2026 — The Port Authority of Guam will officially kick off its 51st anniversary celebration with the opening ceremony of Port Week 2026 on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Port Administration Building.

This year’s celebration, held under the theme “Port Strong: One Port. One Fight. One Future.,” recognizes more than five decades of service to the people of Guam and honors the dedicated employees whose hard work and commitment keep the island’s only commercial seaport operating and cargo moving into the community.

The opening ceremony will bring together government leaders, Port management, employees, industry partners and invited guests to commemorate the Port Authority of Guam’s 51 years of service and recognize the critical role the agency plays in Guam’s economy, supply chain and regional development.

The celebration will begin with a flag-raising ceremony conducted by Port Police, followed by an invocation and the traditional parade of trucks featuring transportation and industry partners. The parade recognizes the important partnership between the Port and the trucking community in keeping Guam’s supply chain moving.

Board of Directors Chairman Frank P. Arriola will deliver the opening remarks, followed by welcoming remarks from General Manager Rory J. Respicio. Governor Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero will deliver the keynote address, highlighting the Port’s contributions to Guam and its continued importance to the island’s future.

The ceremony will also feature the presentation of an official proclamation by Governor Leon Guerrero recognizing Port Week 2026 and the Port Authority of Guam’s 51st anniversary. Legislative certificates recognizing the occasion will also be presented. A special highlight of the opening ceremony will be the recognition of 11 Port retirees, honoring their years of dedicated service and the lasting contributions they have made to the agency. The recognition pays tribute to the generations of employees whose commitment and hard work have helped shape the Port Authority of Guam.

“This year’s theme, ‘One Port. One Fight. One Future.,’ reflects the unity, determination and shared responsibility that define our Port Strong workforce,” said General Manager Rory J. Respicio. “For 51 years, the Port Authority of Guam has served as a vital lifeline for our island, and that mission continues because of the dedication of our employees. Port Week is an opportunity to recognize their contributions, celebrate how far we have come and reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger, more resilient Port for future generations.”

The opening ceremony will mark the beginning of a week of activities celebrating the Port’s history, accomplishments and workforce. Port Week 2026 will culminate on Friday, October 30, with the Port’s Grand Finale and Employee Recognition Ceremony, honoring the employees whose service and dedication contribute to the agency’s continued success.
